Five Below Grand Opening Announced 🛍️ 

The grand opening for the much-anticipated “Cool stuff $1 to $5 and beyond” store is set for May 16th. The new store will be located at 430 S Rangeline (the old Party City location). I’ve never been to a Five Below, but it looks like they have a little bit of everything from toys & games, to tech, arts & crafts, books and pet supplies. Basically it’s a store I could wander around for hours, finding dozens of things I didn’t know I needed. If you can’t wait for the store to open, check out their website!

This March, Doug Hunt from the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce will be sharing insights on growing local businesses—and probably dropping more wisdom than your favorite podcast. You’ll also get the scoop on helpful resources from the Downtown Joplin Alliance to support both new and future business ventures.

The Odd Couple, Female Version 🎭️ 

The Odd Couple: Female Version by Neil Simon is a hilarious twist on his classic comedy, this time featuring two mismatched women as the leads. Neat-freak Florence Unger moves in with her messy, free-spirited friend Olive Madison after a sudden separation from her husband. Chaos (and laughter) ensue as their clashing personalities test the limits of friendship. Set in Olive’s New York City apartment, the play also features a lively group of girlfriends and a pair of charming Spanish neighbors. It's a witty, warm-hearted look at relationships, compromise, and the fine art of cohabitation—with plenty of laughs along the way.

Lion Pride Luncheon 🦁 

The MSSU Athletic Department invites the public to this Spring’s Lion Pride Luncheon. You’ll gain insights into upcoming games, athletic department events, and campus activities. Meet coaches, players, and fellow Lions fans while enjoying an engaging event.

The luncheon will take place at 12:00 PM in the Alumni Room of the Ron Richard Athletic Center. The cost is $12 per person, $10 for Lionbackers and includes a meal, drink, and a Q&A session with coaches and select players from men’s & women’s golf and softball.
