Missouri Utility Bills Might Surge ⚡️
Missouri residents, brace yourselves—your utility bills might be in for another hike! A new bill awaits Governor Kehoe's signature, promising significant changes to consumer utility costs. The Consumers Counsel for Missouri estimates that electric customers could face an additional $1,100 in annual charges if the bill is signed into law.
While the bill aims to modernize the state's energy infrastructure, some critics argue it may leave consumers feeling more powerless than ever.
Stay tuned as we monitor whether this proposal gets the green light or if Governor Kehoe pulls the plug. Kehoe has until April 9 to review and sign the bill.
Joplin Little Theatre Hosts Open Auditions 🎭️
Calling all aspiring actors and drama enthusiasts—Joplin Little Theatre is holding open auditions for Absurd Person Singular, the laugh-out-loud comedy by Alan Ayckbourn, directed by Chelsie Bennett. Auditions will take place March 31st and April 1st at 7 p.m. at Joplin Little Theatre, and no experience is necessary—just bring your best dramatic flair.
Auditions will feature cold readings from the script, and the performance dates are set for May 14–18, 2025. This satirical comedy explores the chaos of three couples navigating holiday gatherings, social pressures, and relationships—with just a splash of absurdity (and cocktails). 🍸

I try to have a pretty good pulse on what is happening in Joplin but this is by far the most comprehensive list out there. I always find something that I didn’t know about.
I’m taking a break from Facebook and it’s nice to know what’s going on in Joplin without being on there. Keep up the good work and thank you for making this newsletter!
