Joplin Crusaders vs St Joe Bucks at Home 🏈

After a gutsy 18–10 road win over the Kansas Skyhawks, the Joplin Crusaders are back home and ready to keep the momentum going. With only 21 players making the trip, Joplin leaned on heart and hustle — and came out on top.
Player of the Week Charles West was a force on both sides of the ball, scoring twice and snagging two interceptions. He and TaJuan Curry anchored a defense that shut down the Skyhawks’ air game, while newcomer BJ Richard Jr. stepped up big in the secondary.
Now 2–0 in the CMFL, the Crusaders host the St. Joe Bucks this Saturday, May 10 at 6:30 PM at MSSU. Let’s pack the stands and show this squad some love — they’ve earned it!
Last week Charles West of the Crusaders earned the Central Section Player of the Week!

Nighttime Lane Closures Coming to MO-249 May 14 & 15 🚧
Heads up, night drivers! The City of Joplin will temporarily close lanes on MO-249 the nights of Tuesday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 15 as part of a major sewer upgrade project.
Crews will be performing geophysical testing to prep for the next phase of the Baker’s Branch East Wastewater Extension, which will bring improved sewer service from Zora & Duquesne to the Zora & Newman interchanges—and eventually serve Duenweg through an existing service agreement.
To avoid digging up the highway, the city is using trenchless boring beneath MO-249. The testing work will require lane closures in both directions from 7 PM to 7 AM. Flashing signage will be in place, and drivers are urged to use caution in the area.
Questions? Contact John Cruz, Sanitary Sewer Engineer, at 417-624-0820 ext. 1584.
