New Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe was sworn in as our 58th governor Monday afternoon. During his inaugural address, he focused on crime, education and tax cuts. Watch the full inauguration here. Here’s what this means for Missouri residents:

  • Enhanced Public Safety Measures - the “Safer Missouri” initiative consists of six executive orders aimed at reducing crime and supporting law enforcement.

  • Focus on Education - Residents can anticipate efforts to broaden educational opportunities across the state, but specific plans haven’t been mentioned.

  • Tax Reduction Plans - a commitment to cutting taxes, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on Missouri residents. Details on proposed tax cuts are expected to be outlined in future policy announcements.

  • Immigration Enforcement Collaboration - An executive order has been signed to establish a 287(g) designation with U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), allowing state and local law enforcement to assist in enforcing federal immigration laws.
