Joplin Crusaders Play for National Title
The Joplin Crusaders Semi Pro football team is headed to Daytona Beach, FL to play in the USA Bowl National Championship on Saturday 1/18. After 27 seasons, they boast a record of 289-40-1. Can’t make it to Daytona to watch the game? That’s okay. On Saturday you can tune in to the livestream.

Freeman Health System Announces New CEO
Starting April 1st, Matthew Fry will take over the role of CEO for Freeman Health System. Fry is the second person tabbed to fill the role after Freeman officials confirmed Tom Keller would not be taking over. Matthew Fry previously served as President and CEO of Hospital Sisters Health Systems St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

6th Annual Empire Market Chili Cookoff - A chili cookoff featuring local chefs competing for the best chili in town. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as People’s Choice. Judging begins at 10:00 AM and public tasting is from 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM (or when the chili runs out!). Admission into the tasting hall is $5.00.
