Joplin Crusaders Play for First National Title in 10 Years 🏈

The Joplin Crusaders Semi Pro football team is traveling to Daytona Beach, FL this Saturday, January 18th for the Semi Pro AAA Summer League USA Bowl National Championship.

This year marks the Crusaders’ 27th season in Joplin. To date, they have won 3 national championships, 13 league championships, 17 division titles, 22 conference championships, and have an overall record of 289-40-1.

❄️ Our Winter storm dumped over 6” of the white stuff Thursday and Friday. The heavy snowfall led to numerous closures and disruptions Friday across the city. Luckily, that means we got to see a TON of snowmen, snowball fight forts and igloos! But with temperatures rising over the weekend, everything should be back on schedule this week.

📎 The JACC Business EXPO is this Wednesday, January 15th at the Downstream Casino Resort Grand Pavilion. This year marks the 32nd annual EXPO hosted by the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. This is Joplin’s premier showcase of 100+ local businesses.

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM is business-to-business only (present business card for admission)
12:00 PM - 4:00 PM is open to the public (admission is $5.00)

🏋️‍♂️ Joplin Fit Kids, Powered by Honey Badger Gym offers fitness classes for kids of all ages and skill levels.

Littles (ages 3-5) is a 30-45 minute class that focuses on basic exercise movement and coordination, task-based games, and FUN!
Bigs (ages 6-10) is a 45-60 minute class that introduces children to the fundamentals of calisthenics, weightlifting, and endurance exercise. This program will enhance their overall growth in youth sports they may be interested in and instill confidence in training as they continue to grow and develop.

🧋 HTeaO Opens at 910 S Madison, Webb City, MO. HTeaO is a Texas-based tea drive thru serving 25 flavors of fresh brewed tea. Their grand opening has been postponed due to inclement weather, but they are officially open from 10:00 AM - 8:05 PM.

👩‍⚕️ MSSU Expands Nursing Program. Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) is taking significant steps to combat the critical shortage of registered nurses and nursing faculty in the Four State region.

The Board of Governors recently received updates on the expansion of the university’s Baccalaureate in Nursing degree program.

Lisa M. Beals, DNP, Chair of the McCune-Brooks Department of Nursing, shared that the Missouri State Board of Nursing has approved the addition of a second pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) cohort, set to begin in Spring 2026.
