Governor Kehoe’s Winter Weather Preparations ❄️ 

As Winter’s chill approaches (again), Governor Kehoe has signed an executive order to ensure Missouri is ready for whatever Mother Nature throws our way. The order mobilizes states resources and agencies to prepare for severe weather conditions, aiming to keep roads clear and citizens safe.

Calling all innovators! Thursday, April 17th, Pitch Palooza is offering a free competition for local entrepreneurs to showcase their business ideas. Always Buying Books Aids Jefferson Elementary Teacher 📚️ 

A local small business (our favorite kind) is lending a hand to a Joplin teacher’s mission to collect 1,000 books for her students. If you’ve been looking for a reason to declutter your kids’ bookcases, here’s your solution! Joplin City Council Addresses Homelessness ✔️ 

The Joplin City Council has been updated on the ongoing efforts to tackle homelessness in the area. JPD is enforcing ordinances to make sure private properties are protected and the park ranger program is making sure loitering is kept out of city parks. Later this year, Joplin will be adding cameras to 8 city parks that will allow park rangers and police officers to monitor them in real time.

U.S. is Ditching the Penny 💰️ 

It’s been announced the penny costs more money to make than it’s actually worth. President Trump has ordered the Treasury Department to halt production immediately. While many Americans agree ditching these coins will save money, others worry about the potential impact on pricing and transactions. We’re just wondering how long we need to hold onto pennies before they become a collectors item…
