THE DIGEST
Joplin Police Initiate Emergency Road Conditions ❄️
Yesterday the Joplin Police Department declared Emergency Road Conditions, urging residents to limit travel to essential needs only. In the event of a non-injury accident, drivers are being advised to exchange information and move vehicles off the roadway. Remember, in Joplin, when it snows, it’s best to cozy up at home with some hot cocoa and let the plows do their thing.
This map is a guide to warming centers across Missouri.

Featuring dynamic speakers, worship, and breakout sessions, this event is all about faith, growth and connection. Whether you’re looking for encouragement, community, or just an excuse to get out of the house for a couple days, this is the place to be! Register here!
Brady Cloud Makes Awesome 3D Prints 🏫
We don’t normally highlight a specific individual, but we felt it was necessary to write an article about Brady Cloud and his hobby of making 3D-printed miniature models of local buildings. He’s turning his passion for local architecture into a miniature art form right here in Joplin. Brady’s 3D printer brings to life detailed replicas of treasured landmarks like the Jasper County Courthouse, Carthage churches, Joplin City Hall, and the Connor Hotel, preserving pieces of our local history one print at a time.
Each model is a labor of love: some prints, like the Connor, demand up to 15 hours of printing and several additional hours of painting. His creative work not only celebrates local heritage, but also earns him a few extra bucks for college!
To purchase or just follow along, check out Brady on Facebook.
Empire Market Annual Vendor Meeting 🤝
If you’re a current Empire Market vendor or you’re interested in becoming one, this meeting is for you! Empire Market will be reviewing their revised Rules & Regulations, SNAP and debit token procedures, Double Up Food Bucks and more. And the only thing that makes any meeting totally worth it—snacks will be provided. The meeting is Thursday, Feb 20 at 5:30 PM.
Joplin Museum Celebrates Langston Hughes with New Exhibit 🖼️
