Good Morning, Joplin. The only place in America you can experience snow still on the ground and a high of low 60’s on the same day.
In today’s JOMO Jive:
CBCO Urges Blood Donations
Egg My Yard
New Dog Park
Let’s get to it.
— Matt Thompson
P.S. If you find something useful in today’s Jive, please share it with someone who has never given blood because they’re afraid of needles.

THE DIGEST
CBCO Urges Blood Donations After Winter Storms 🩸
Joplin, we have a problem—winter storms have severely drained the local blood supply, and the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) is putting out an urgent call for donors. Thanks to recent weather-related cancellations, hospitals are running low on the blood supply needed for patients in 43 local hospitals. In other words, there’s a serious need and it’s time for us to step up.
If you’ve never donated before, now’s the time! Not only is the process quick, easy and lifesaving—the CBCO is offering incentives through the 56-Day Challenge:
Donate three times between now and August 31st and you’ll be entered to win a $1,000 Visa gift card.
Throughout the course of this year, you could win up to $56,000 in Visa gift cards! See how here.
Your donation stays local, helping patients in Joplin, Springfield, and surrounding areas.
You’ll get free snacks—and let’s be honest, that’s one of the best bonuses of all.
You must register for the 56-Day Challenge by February 28th!
Joplin Human Society Wants to Egg Your Yard 🐰
Save the date! Looking to surprise your little ones with an egg-stra special Easter morning? The Joplin Humane Society is bringing back its popular “Egg My Yard” fundraise, where volunteers will scatter candy-filled eggs across your lawn the night before Easter.
Here’s how it works:
$25 gets you 30 eggs hidden in your yard
$50 and you’ll have 60 eggs magically appear overnight
$75 means your yard is getting the most egg-streme treatment with 100 eggs
All proceeds support the Humane Society’s work caring for homeless pets in Joplin. Orders must be placed by March 26th (this is the date we told you to save) and volunteers will deliver the Easter magic on the evening of March 30th. Get your order in now at the Joplin Humane Society website.
Webb City Fetches a New Dog Park at King Jack Park 🐶
Good news, #dogsofwebbcity—there’s a new tail-wagging destination coming to town! City officials have announced that a brand-new dog park is set to open at King Jack Park in Webb City later this year. That means local dogs will finally have a space to run free without their humans yelling, “Get back here!” every five seconds.
The new dog park will feature:
Separate areas for large and small dogs (because we all know Chihuahuas have the biggest attitudes).
Shaded seating for dog parents who just want to sip coffee while their fur babies socialize.
Water stations to keep your pups hydrated and ready for more zoomies.
The project is currently in the design phase, with officials hoping to have tails wagging by the end of 2025. For Webb City’s four-legged citizens, this is basically the equivalent of getting a new Buc-ee’s. Stay tuned for more updates.
