April 14, is your final opportunity to capture a memorable photo of your furry friend with the Easter Bunny at Northpark Mall in Joplin. The special pet photo session runs from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Non-pet photo sessions with the Easter Bunny are still available through Thursday, April 18, 2025. Reservations are encouraged to secure your spot and avoid long lines—walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed.

SEK Humane Society Bake Sale 🍪 

Looking to stock up on sweets just in time for Easter? The SEK Humane Society is hosting its Spring Bake Sale on Saturday, April 19, from 10 AM to 4 PM at Meadowbrook Mall in Pittsburg, KS. This delicious annual fundraiser features cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and more—all baked with love to support the animals at SEKHS.

Auditions for The Wizard of Oz 🎭️ 

Calling all munchkins, wizards, and witches—Dream Theatre Troupe in Joplin is holding open auditions for its upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz (movie version), and they’re looking for a large, talented cast to bring the magic to life! Auditions will be held at 7:00 PM on April 14 and 15 at 124 S. Main Street in downtown Joplin.

Roles are open to all ages, with 15 to 20 children needed. Come prepared to perform 16 measures of a song, take part in a dance audition, and do cold readings from the script. And a heads up for aspiring Wicked Witches—the director requests you arrive in full makeup for the role.

Performance dates are set for June 19–21 and June 26–28, and yes—there will be singing, dancing, and plenty of Emerald City sparkle. Ready to take the stage? No ruby slippers required… but they couldn’t hurt.

The City of Joplin’s Annual Resurfacing Program Begins Today ⚠️ 

Joplin's annual street resurfacing project is set to begin this week, aiming to improve road conditions across the city.
