Good Morning, Joplin. McDonald’s New Zealand just rolled out a mullet-inspired cheeseburger where it’s a normal burger on one side and an extra slice of cheese hangs hangs out the back. If Joplin were a mullet, which part of town would be the party in the back?
In today’s JOMO Jive:
Mother’s Day Events
Golf Tournaments
Therapy at The Farm
Let’s get to it.

P.S. If you find something useful in today’s Jive, please share it with someone who likes mullets more than any other hairstyle.

Joplin Greenhouse & The Coffee Shop is officially restocked with fresh houseplants, ranging from easy-care staples to bigger, statement-making greenery that can completely transform a space.
It’s more than just a quick shopping trip, too—grab a coffee, stroll through the greenhouse, and take your time finding something special. Whether you’re shopping for a plant-loving mom or just treating yourself (no judgment), it’s a relaxed, feel-good way to spend part of your weekend.

🎶 Sad Daddy Brings Roots Revival to Coda
Sunday, May 24 | Doors 4:00 PM | Coda Concert House

If you’re into the gritty, genre-blending sound of the Ben Miller Band, this one’s squarely in your lane. Sad Daddy—featuring Brian Martin and Melissa Carper—returns to Coda Concert House with a full-band performance that leans into everything from funk and soul to blues, bluegrass, and old-time country.
Carper’s Ramblin’ Soul earned national recognition (including praise from Rolling Stone), and her songwriting has even landed in mainstream TV—so expect a polished but deeply rootsy live set. Seating is donation-based, starting at $35, with reserved options available closer to the stage. Every dollar goes directly to the artists, making this one of those rare shows that feels both intimate and impactful. Reservations are required via email, so plan ahead if you want a seat. 🚜 A New Kind of Therapy Space Breaks Ground in Joplin
Something pretty unique is coming to Joplin’s healthcare landscape. Pediatrics Plus hosted a groundbreaking event for its new “farm-style” therapy center—an approach designed to make services more engaging, accessible, and fun for kids and families.
This future space will offer ABA, Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy all in one place, but with a twist: a setting built to feel more like an interactive farm than a clinical environment. Learn more about the farm below!

☕ Donuts & Delegates
Thursday, May 21 | 9:30–11:00 AM | G&A Partners

If you want a direct line into what’s happening at the state level—this is one of the better rooms to be in. The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting Donuts & Delegates, featuring updates from Jill Carter and Lane Roberts.
Held at G&A Partners, this member-exclusive event offers a legislative wrap-up focused on how recent decisions impact the local business community. Expect a mix of insights, Q&A opportunities, and—true to form—coffee and donuts to keep things moving.
Seats are limited and registration is required by May 19, so if staying informed (and connected) is part of your playbook, this is worth locking in early.
