Good Morning, Joplin. Sometimes I wonder what it’d be like to live in a place where you wake up one day, it’s spring, and there’s no fear of going right back to winter the very next day. Welcome to Spring Break in the Midwest!

Today is St. Patrick’s Day! Want to know the real green today? The $7.7 billion Americans celebrating the holiday, mostly on food and drink (read: mostly drink).

In today’s JOMO Jive:

  • Mutt Madness Sweet 16

  • A Dog’s Dream fundraisers

  • Willcoxon Health Sciences Summit

Let’s get to it.

P.S. If you find something useful in today’s Jive, please share it with someone who refuses to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day.

🐶 Mutt Madness Sweet 16!

Round One of Mutt Madness delivered some serious drama. A few pups cruised to easy victories, while one nail-biter was decided by just two votes. The race to crown the cutest dog in Joplin is officially heating up.

🐕️ Support Local Pups with A Dog’s Dream Silent Auction & Raffle

If Mutt Madness has you feeling extra appreciative of the dogs in our community, here’s another way to show some love. A Dog’s Dream Rescue has launched a 10-day online silent auction and 50/50 raffle fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting their adoption program and the dogs waiting for their forever homes.

The silent auction fundraiser features a wide variety of items to bid on, including Half Face Blades gear, Grunt Style merchandise, date night packages, doggie daycare, local gift cards, and more. Participants can also enter the 50/50 raffle, where one lucky winner receives half of the total pot while the other half directly funds veterinary care, food, supplies, and adoption preparation for rescue dogs. It’s a fun way to support a great cause—and maybe even win something along the way.
