☕ Bearded Lady Roasters Grand Reopening Celebration
Thursday, September 4 | 7:00 AM–4:00 PM | 901 E 4th Street, Joplin
Bearded Lady Roasters is back full-time in their brand-new home at the roastery on 4th Street, and they’re throwing a grand reopening party to celebrate! The shop will now be open Mon–Fri 7:00 AM–4:00 PM and Sat 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, serving their full menu alongside community favorites.
The celebration includes fresh breads and pastries from Farmhouse Bakery, bacon-wrapped hot dogs from Top Dawgs, a Blooms by Diem pop-up florist, and exclusive BLR merch from Pretty Flowers Printing. Festivities also feature a Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting at 11:00 AM, plus plenty of coffee, community, and good vibes. After a year of transition, Bearded Lady is stronger than ever—and ready to party with Joplin!

🎶 Connect2Culture Kicks Off Season with Sons of Serendip
Friday, September 5 | 7:00 PM | Cornell Complex, Beshore Performance Hall

The internationally acclaimed quartet Sons of Serendip brings their signature blend of vocals, harp, piano, and cello to Joplin for a breathtaking live performance. Known from America’s Got Talent and collaborations with the Boston Pops and Grammy-winner Cynthia Erivo, their soulful, cinematic sound has captivated audiences around the world.
Part of the Curtains Up Series, the performance begins at 7 PM on September 5 at the Cornell Complex. Tickets are $35–$40 and promise an unforgettable evening of music that uplifts and inspires.

🗽 The Freedom Endeavor: Honoring Veterans Through Art
September 4–27 | Jo Mueller Reserve Gallery, Spiva Center for the Arts

The Freedom Endeavor exhibit pays tribute to U.S. military veterans through dramatic photography, video, and text that highlight the everyday heroes who live among us. Presented as part of the Heartland Patriots Festival, it reminds us of the freedoms we often take for granted and the sacrifices made to protect them.
Visitors can explore powerful stories at the Jo Mueller Reserve Gallery from September 4–27, with a special reception on September 10 at 5:30 PM. Learn more about the exhibit and the people it honors at freedomendeavor.org.
